Dunboyne 4 Mile 2018: Race Day Information

Dear Participant

We would like to thank you for registering for the 49th EirGrid Dunboyne 4 Mile Race.  We have some important information relating to collection of your race number and event details. We have also added a participant checklist. Please ensure that your details are correct such as Name, Club and Age Category .

Don’t forget, the clocks go forward one hour on Race Day morning (i.e. after midnight on Saturday)!

RACE NUMBER COLLECTION

Early Number Collection: Saturday March 24th from 5PM – 6PM at Dunboyne AC on Rooske Road, Dunboyne.

On Race Day (Sunday March 25th) all race numbers must be collected from Race HQ at Dunboyne Community Centre between 12.30PM and 2.30PM.

The race starts at 3PM and Race Start Point is 10 minutes from Race HQ.

All entrants will receive a running diary, as well as water and Avonmore Protein Milk at the race finish, and all finishers will receive a 4 Mile Race T-Shirt .

If you have registered on-line and cannot find your entry details please check your email (inluding spam folder) for an email from Primo Events with Subject “This is your receipt”. You can also check your registration record at myrunresults.com.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION

We would encourage everyone to register on-line if possible, otherwise same day registration will be available at Race HQ (Dunboyne Community Centre) from 12.30PM – 2.30PM.

PARKING

You can park at one of these three locations:

  • Dunboyne Train Station, 500 meters from Race HQ (on right if driving from Clonee)
  • Dunboyne Primary School, 100 meters from Race HQ but limited parking
  • St Peter’s College Dunboyne, 100 meters from Race HQ but limited parking.

Signs and stewards will be there to direct you on the day, but please allow plenty of time to park, collect your race number and reach the start line.

RACE START TIME & LOCATION

The Race will start at 3PM on the Old Navan Road in Dunboyne. This is about a kilometer from Race HQ so please allow enough time to get there after collecting your number. The race finishes on the Dunboyne Village Green.

JUVENILE RACES

Juvenile races take place as per the image below. Each entrant should bring €2 to the start line. Every finisher will receive a medal.

TOILETS

There will be portaloos will be at the Main Race Start line and at Race HQ.

PERSONAL BAGS

You can leave your bags at  the community centre, but they will not be supervised and Dunboyne AC is not responsible for anything lost or stolen. If possible please leave your bags in your car.

REFRESHMENTS

Refreshments will be available after the race in Race HQ.

PRIZEGIVING

Prizes will be awarded at Race HQ shortly after the race finishes. We will have live music and plenty of refreshments there while you wait to hear if you’ve won a prize or cheer on a friend or team mate.

Individual Prizes:

Senior Men / Women: First 6

Men / Women Over 40, 45, 50, 55, 60: First 3

Men / Women Over 65, 70: First 2

Men / Women U19: First 3

Man / Woman Strava Flying Mile:  First 1 (To be eligible for this prize you have until midnight on race day to upload your race to Strava: the winners will be announced and contacted on the following day).

Team Prizes

Senior Men / Women: 4 Club Teams of 4 to count

Corporate Team Challenge:

1st Men’s Team of 4 to count

1st Women’s Team of 4 to count

1st Mixed Team of 4 to count

RESULTS

All results will be available after the race on myrunresults.com

TIMING CHIP

The race will be chip timed. Please attach your race number to the front of your outer layer using the safety pins provided. Do not fold or bend the number. Your race number must be clearly visible at all times, especially when crossing the start and finish lines.
