Juvenile Christmas Party and Awards Night – December 17th

Juvenile Christmas Party and Awards Night – December 17th

Last Sunday night 17th December, brought the curtain down in style on the Juvenile year when we held our annual Christmas Party and Awards night in the Scout Den. A great night was had by all and those who attended seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
Although the food and drink on offer wasn’t strictly part of a young athletes expected diet, the coaches opted to look the other way for the night.
A brilliant slide show and presentation created by Coach Stephen Griffin, showing our athletes in various competitions throughout the year, provided a super backdrop to proceedings.
After the awards were handed out the young athletes were entertained by DJ John Connolly who had all the kids doing all sorts of dancing competitions and games all night.
It was difficult to know if it was the boys or the girls who won the dancing competition. In fact the competition was as fierce on the dance floor as you would expect to see on the track.
A special word of thanks to John for putting on a great show and for supporting our event, it is hugely appreciated by all at Dunboyne AC.
Also present on the night to hand out awards and medals were Michael Cornyn and Emilia Dan. Both took precious time out of their busy schedules to present the awards and we really appreciate their time and support for the Juvenile section.
Baker extraordinaire Emilia, who rushed to the event from the National Novice cross country in Waterford, brought some tasty cakes and provided the prize cake for the raffle. Big thanks to you both from the juvenile coaches.
Another big word of thanks to our friends in Dunboyne Scouts who again generously provided us with the den for the night and in particular to Michael Daly and to Esther Harrison who so kindly looked after us all night. Your support and assistance is very much appreciated by the club.
Also huge thanks to all the parents who so generously provided so many treats and goodies for the children (small and big) and who helped out in so many ways on the night.
It wouldn’t have been possible to have a night like that without your continued assistance and all the juvenile coaches truly appreciate your on-going support.
All the coaches wish all our Juvenile members and their families a very happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all back training on Jan 8th.
