St. Coca’s 5k Road Race, Kilcock, 24th June 2016

St. Coca’s hosted their annual 5k last Friday night, the fast course and big pot attracting a large field with plenty of quality up front.

As we’ve frequently reported of late we seen a Peter Somba win, Peter duelling with Mark Kirwin of Raheny Shamrocks until 200m to go when a spurt seen him win with a margin of 3 seconds.

Morgan McDonagh posted an impressive 16:33 off little enough training of late due to exams.

Clodagh Dunphy ran 20 flat, a PB and 18 second improvement on her Na Fianna outing.

Ray Mitchell and Paul Gorey continued their ‘summer duel’ both racing regularly and racing well this season. They posted times of 21:09 and 21:41 respectively.

Noel Duffy continues to run well, 24:11 for him on the night.

Hurler, footballer cyclist and runner John Mitchell ran well for a 24:35 time.

Eddie Reid followed up on a good run in the Kilbride GAA race with another one, this time a 25:12, just one place separating himself and Noel Duffy in their category.

Anne Gorman, more accustomed to the longer distances, has obviously recovered well from her duathlon, 27:36 for Anne on Friday night.
