Usually taking place on the last Sunday in March, the first in the race series, this local race with a big reputation has long been a landmark event on the Irish road racing calendar, following on from the long running Dunboyne 4 Mile.

The 2023 edition introduced a new finish area with the final 380m on our synthetic running track. The start line is at the “dead end” on the Old Navan Road, taking participants on a fast flat left-handed route through the Village and onwards around the ‘Moor Of Meath’ route, returning via Rooske Road, thus offering great potential for athletes to target a fast time while it’s also an ideal event for anyone new to fitness, walking or running. The emphasis is, as always, on a fun day out in a friendly and safe environment with a fun post-race event and the famous Dunboyne AC hospitality.

In 2022 the new 10k route proved very popular. Its fast potential was evident with 7 athletes crossing the line in less than 32 minutes (and a further 31 athletes arriving in under 35 minutes). The men’s race saw Clonliffe Harrier’s athlete Efrem Gidey take first place in a fantastic time of 28:25, while the women’s race saw Fionnuala McCormack, Kilcoole AC first across the line in a fast 32:27. The team races were hotly contested with Portmarnock AC taking the men’s and Mullingar Harriers the women’s prizes.

Do you want to challenge yourself to a goal pace? Dunboyne AC make this easy for you by providing Race Pacers for 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 & 70 minutes targets. Look out for the friendly gang with the colourful t-shirts & balloons at the start-line.
