DA’Campers Triumph at 800M and 1 mile races, Dunboyne AC Track, Saturday 5th March 2016
Our dedicated DA’Campers added yet another string to their bow on Saturday; middle distance running. As we completed our hour of strenuous circuit and core work at the cruel hands of Vice Chairman Gannon, we spotted Tony O’Neill setting up the clock for the two races being run in conjunction with the throws meet. We were so pumped on DA’Camp endorphins, almost half of us found ourselves signing up for the 800M and 1 mile races. We may have been delirious with exhaustion, but we convinced ourselves a few laps would help flush the lactate out. Our best times would be for another day on fresher legs, but we entered in a spirit of participation regardless, everyone gave whatever they had left, and you can see the results below. Is there anything our DA’Campers can’t do? Well done to everyone for setting pride aside to avail of a fun opportunity. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that this is what it’s all about.
