Dunboyne AC at A Lust for Life 5K & 10K, Phoenix Park, Saturday 5th March 2016
Fit4Youth, Fit4Life and Seniors were all represented on Saturday at the “Bressie
Run,” A Lust for Life in the Phoenix Park on a pleasant sunny and still morning.
We think Fit4Youth may have stolen the show. Their coach, Senior’s Laura Buckley, set the bar high and got them off to a
flying start finishing 2nd lady in a superb time of 19.13, a mere 8 seconds behind the winner, placing 9th overall in the 5K race in a field
of over 4,000.
Fit4Life member, and Fit4Youth mentor, Maria Hughes togged out with her 2 Fit4Youth daughters Rebecca and Sarah
Ward. Apparently Bressie is the only person who can entice Rebecca into a run. Maria clocked 33.48, Rebecca 32.35 and Sarah crushed them both
with 30.57. Both daughters are now grounded, of course! How else will they learn?
Fit4Life’s Dan Higgins and Karen Harris also tackled the 5K distance clocking 38.29 and 26.17 respectively. Very well done
to both of you!
Rory O’Neill represented the Seniors very impressively in the 10K clocking 39.42 to finish 14th in the race out of
a total field of almost 2,000. Jan Rice flew the Fit4Life flag in her first 10K of recent times, finishing in 1.06.33. Good stuff Jan and
Rory!
Well done to everyone for getting out and representing us and special congrats on the podium finish Laura!
