Our throwing introduction was a real hit, thanks to the expertise, good
humour and patience of Declan Nyhan and Michelle Pilkington!
Once we’d all “mastered” (honestly) the shot putt, we moved onto the javelin
and discovered our new favourite game “hit the cone,” thereby solving the
mystery of the many damaged club cones. And a few of our rookies did indeed
hit the target! We won’t say who; wouldn’t want to give them the
satisfaction!
Coach Nyhan, as generous as he is brave, extended an invitation to all
present, and any other adult club member who didn’t make this introductory
session, to join his training group any Saturday at 1pm, from September 10th
onwards when his throwing group resumes after the summer recess.
