Newsflash: Gold for Michael Cornyn, Dunboyne AC and Ireland at the World Masters Championships in Korea
Great news from Daegu, South Korea overnight where Michael Cornyn was part of the Irish team that won a World Championship gold medal in the M55 8k Cross country yesterday. Michael was 3rd scorer on the team, finishing in an impressive 12th place overall in the large field. With his Ireland team mates Thomas O’Connor (Liffey Valley AC) and Patrick O’Grady (Drogheda & District AC) finishing 5th and 6th overall, the team packed well to win gold despite two Italians finishing in the top 4. Well done Michael and team Ireland on winning your World Championship gold medal. We will keep you updated as to Michael’s progress when he competes in the indoor 800m during the week.
