Great pals Holly Ryan and Katie O’Reilly made the trip to Tullamore on Sat to compete in the highly competitive All Ireland U9 300m finals. Sporting matching French Plaits, it was a glamourous appearance from the pair. True to form Holly Ryan sprinted off with the leaders in heat one with nothing but first place on her mind. Holly kept up a scorching pace around the bend but the brave early pace took its toll in the later stages as Holly crossed the line in 62 secs, a little short of her usual sub 60 form. There’s lots more to come from the blonde bullet !
Heat two saw the novice Katie O’Reilly swap her dancing shoes for running spikes and after a great start Katie used all her dancing skill to skip over a faller on the bend, regain her cool and sweep passed three runners down the home straight for a 62.13 PB. No medals this time for the Leinster Champs but a credible ninth place finish all the same. A pair to watch for the future ! Well done Holly & Katie.
