COVID Level 5 Restrictions – Club CLOSED Except for U-18s Scheduled Group Training
Dear Club Member,
The Government has now moved the entire country to Level 5 of the Living with Covid Plan.
Yesterday (Oct 22nd), both Sport Ireland and Athletics Ireland issued clarifications on the implications of Level 5 on sports clubs, including athletic clubs.

The implications for Dunboyne AC are as follows:
- The track is closed to all club members except for scheduled training sessions for under 18s (Juveniles and Fit4Youth).
- Group Training organised by the Club for U-18s (Juveniles, Fit4Youth) can continue in Pods of 15 max while adhering to all Covid Protocols.
- Sport Ireland and Athletics Ireland have advised that the 5k travel restriction does not apply to participants and coaches attending organised training for under 18s.
Parents/guardians are also exempt from the 5k limit when taking U-18s to organised training sessions.
- All adult group training (Fit4Life & Seniors) is cancelled.
- It will not be possible for individuals to book the use of the track (as the advice states that all sports facilities both indoor & outdoor must close).
Closing our brilliant new track is not what we want to do. But we must think of the bigger picture here.
I want to thank all club members for their patience & understanding.
We all look forward to the day when booking a time-slot to train on the track is a thing of the past and we are all back training together as a club.
Stay safe,
Best regards,
Phelim Glynn
Chairman,
Dunboyne AC.
