C25K Success stories: I’m Lisa Stewart and my C25K journey began in January 2017. I had decided, yet again, this was the year I was going to get fit! A flyer for C25K in my letterbox decided the means. I remember turning up to the first C25K session thinking what have I done! Apart from walking I had never really exercised or played sport so why did I think I could run 5k in a matter of weeks! I needn’t have feared. With the support of the wonderful and encouraging C25k coaches, my fitness levels gradually improved and I completed my first 5k in February 2017 along with a group of new friends. It was such a fantastic sense of achievement. Being able to run 5k had been the goal but somewhere along the way I developed a genuine grá for running and decided to join the Fit for Life (F4L) group in Dunboyne AC. With the encouragement and support of the F4L group and my running buddies, I’ve gone on to run in several races including the Dublin Half Marathon. I’m fitter, happier and I’ve made some wonderful friends along the way. You will never regret the decision to join C25K.
