Well done to Peter Roche who finished top of the table at the IMRA Leinster League following a 2nd place finish at the Coillte Crone Caper on July 19th. Peter has been the putting in great performances at the mid-week IMRA races, a real King of the Mountains.
On a rain soaked Sunday morning, we had runners at the Malahide 10k, Duleek 10k and Irish Runner 10 mile.In Malahide. Cian Mangan finished the 10k in 13th place in a time of 42:31, great going for a course on wet grass.
Dunboyne had 6 runners at the very well organised Indaver Duleek 10K Road Race.
Peter Somba finished in 1st overall (32:18), followed by Matt Moffat (7th in 36:29), Johnny O’Toole (10th in 37:23), Phelim Glynn (37:41), Ethan McDonald (39:18), Sean Bailey (40:17) and Edel Slevin (1:01:09).
The Dunboyne team of Peter, Matt and Johnny finished as 1st men’s team. Phelim was 1st M50 and Sean 1st M60.
The main race of the day was the Irish Runner 10 mile Challenge in the Phoenix Park where Dunboyne had 11 runners. While the Dunboyne men ran some decent times, this was all about the women, with Jane Bandila, Claire Ní Fhaircheallaigh and Mairead Hogan finishing as 2nd Senior team behind Dundrum South Dublin A.C.
Jane and Claire (running a PB) picked up individual national medals, finishing 1st and 2nd in the F40 category. Super running on a hilly course in wet weather! Shout out to Emer too who PB’d at 10k and 10 mile during this race.
