Double Delight for Dunboyne AC at National Senior Track and Field Championships
Padraig White and Sara Treacy picked up where they left off at Nationals in 2015 with a double medal haul for Dunboyne AC at the National Track and Field Championships held in Santry on Saturday and Sunday last.
In the first event of the weekend Padraig White retained his All Ireland crown with a throw of 61.19m. He was the only man to throw over 60m on the day.
Reigning 3000m S/C and 1500m holder Sara Treacy put her focus on the 1500m race at the Championships and she continued her preparations for the Rio Olympics with an excellent 2nd place just 2 seconds behind Ciara McGeean who is also on her way to the Olympics.
Dunboyne AC were well represented in the field, aside from Padraig the club had Denis Delany competing in the Javelin and Michelle Pilkington Street competing in the Discus, Hammer and Shot.
Denis threw a best of 45.96m in the Javelin on the day. Michelle had a best of 20.19m in the Discus, 24.78m in the Hammer and 7.42m in the Shot.
