Some of our Dunboyne AC athletes popped out to the Irish Runner Paced Miles evening in ALSAA last night (Wednesday) and all of our gang ran great times.
Sam Hamilton ran a strong 8:35 in the wet and windy conditions in her event. Paul O’Donnell broke the 6 min barrier as he raced right up with his pacemaker throughout, to deliver an impressive 5:52. Geoff Hamilton ran a very good 6:18 and was noted staying on strongly at the finish. Michael Cornyn had Irish athletics legend Catherina McKiernan pacing for him in his event and she pulled him through to an impressive seasons best of 5:33 bettering his previous current season best by 8 seconds.
The feedback from the athletes was that despite the wet and windy conditions the atmosphere was great all evening and they would recommend this fun racing event to all athletes in the club. Look out for the next instalment in the series next month.
