Starting in 2023, the Dunboyne AC “Night of the 5000s” Track 5k usually takes place towards the end of August from 6PM onwards.

The 2025 event is scheduled for Thursday August 21st, entry details and link will be provided at a later date.

Multiple 5k races are run, starting with a slower paced race and getting progressively faster throughout the evening. Below are the indicative paces/times for the races, a detailed schedule with start times will be published in advance of the event.

Race 1 (over 25 mins)

Race 2 (22 min to 25 min)

Race 3 (20 min to 22 min)

Race 4 (17 min to 20 min)

Race 5 (17 mins or under)

Entrants choose which group they want to run in, each race is timed and is run entirely on the track (12.5 laps).
