Our Fit4Youth group was well represented at the clubs’ 4 mile Race day, both in the Junior Races at 2pm and the 4 mile race at 3pm.
First out was Doireann Ní Flatharta who won the 12 & U12 Girls 800 metres while Conor Leane won the 12 & U12 Boys 800 Metres, with his brother Marc just behind, taking 2nd place.
In the Girls Mile race, two dedicated Fit4Youth members Nicole Frazer took the top honours with Kate Reilly taking 3rd Place. David White ran a great race and came 2nd in the Boys Mile race.
Other brave runners, on this cool and showery day were Bonnie Mcfeat, Victoria Knox, Anna Griffin, Sarah Magee, Katie Greene and Lauren McConnell. Well done to you all–the future is staying bright.
In the 4 Mile Race, Maeve Dunne represented the ‘Senior’ Fit4Youth Ladies and yet again was on the podium. Maeve came 2nd in the Junior section. There’s no stopping this girl.
John Mills and Jack Gavin went head to head in the Junior section of the race, and finished almost the same, both finishing with excellent times. There’s a sense of friendly rivalry between these two, and I think we will see their great results being replicated in the future.
It didn’t finish there though, for some of our members. As the 4 mile race was starting, Bonnie McFeat, Anna Griffin, Jessica Clarke and Nicole Frazer were already at the finish line to help Roisin Bell and Susan Culhane, give out Goodie Bags to the tired and thirsty runners. For those of us who have done this, we know that it’s no easy task, but they did it with a smile and made it look easy. They ensured that all the visiting runners left Dunboyne with a nice new T-shirt and some goodies.
I apologise if anybody has been left out of this report. Thank you to all of you who once again represented Dunboyne Fit4Youth so well.
