The throwers turned up for training on Saturday just like every other week, but little did they know that there was a surprise in store for the session.
Joining the session were Olympians Nick Sweeney – Irish Discus record holder – and Paddy McGrath second furthest Irish hammer thrower of all time. They were joined by Nicks father Neil and Dan Kennedy – Terry McHugh’s coach.
So the lads were going through their paces and doing very well under this added pressure and scrutiny, when Nick decided to video call Shot Putt Legend Adam Nelson and get him to watch the guys live from the USA and critique them.
For those that aren’t aware Adam Nelson was 2004 Olympic Champion and 2005 World Champion. He gave the guys some great tips to work on.
The lads all finished the session on a high. Perfect timing heading into the long winter months ahead.
