All Ireland Juvenile Inter Club Cross Country Relays and Women’s Intermediate Cross Country Championship, 22nd Jan 2017
Dunboyne AC had four teams in action in the first ever All Ireland Inter Club Cross Country Relay Championship held at the Palace Grounds, Tuam, Co. Galway on Sunday the 22nd of January 2017. The course was hilly through-out, with athletes either in a sprint downwards, or a struggle upwards with under- foot condition soft to add an extra energy sapping obstacle. All teams battled well however no silverware on this occasion.

These Girls finished a respectful fifth, continuing to show the what potential they have, bringing down the curtains on a good cross country season.

With all but one athlete underage again next year, these boys are true contenders for next year’s competition, finishing seventh in the opening race of the day.
U/14 Girls 500M

In the last juvenile race of the day the elder girls battled well losing out on a medal by less than 10 meters in the 2km race as they came home fifth.

Having chopped and changed podium positions through-out the race, these boys finished a very frustrating fourth in one of those races that could have gone anyway.
Well done to all, and a big thank you to all those who traveled to support our youngsters.
All the athletes were on hand to cheer on Fit for Youth coach Laura Buckley who was in action in what was to be a grueling Women’s Intermediate All Ireland Cross Country Championship. Laura continue to impress the onlookers coming home a very respectful eight overall. A well deserved break in now deserved after what was trophy cabinet filling season.
