Leinster Juvenile Track and Field Championships 2021

A great day at the Leinster Juvenile Track and Field Championships for the boys: On the podium we had the following,

🏅 U12 John Hanlon coming home with a bronze medal in the 60m final. John also qualified for the final of the 600m finishing 7th in a very competitive race.

🏅 Congratulations also to Charlie Kane on a silver medal in the U12 High Jump. Charlie also competed in the 600m and ran a great race.

🏅 With a fantastic PB of 1:41 for the 600m Harry Drake came away with a well earned bronze medal in the u13 competition. Super progression for this young man in 2021. Well done Harry.

🏅🏅 What a day for our U12 Matthew Hyland at the Leinster Track and Field Championships in Carlow. With a PB of 1:45 in the final of the 600m, Matthew won a well earned bronze medal and then went and topped that off with PB of 1:28 in the high jump competition to take his first Leinster title.
Congratulations Matthew.

Great performances from our U12 and U13 athletes at the Leinster Track and Field Championships.

Tom Gormley:
U13 Tom had a busy day progressing through the heats in both the 80m and 600m to reach both finals. Tom finished just outside the medals in both events and came away with a great PB for his efforts over the 600m.

Aaron Etukurdoh: A newcomer
to competition, taking every thing in his stride, well done to Aaron on a super 4th place in the U13 80m final in his first leinster championships.

Katie O’Reilly:
Disappointed to have to sit the high jump out, Katie ran a great heat to finish 2nd and qualify for the U13 girls 600m final. A great way to finish off a year which has seen Katie continue to progress steadily.

Other great performances on the day came from:
Heloise Burke (U12 600m)
Eimear Ahern (U12 60m)
Sam Eglington (U12 60m)
Grace Connell (U13 Long jump)
Holly Ryan (U13 80m)
George Comerford (U13 600m)

The club and the coaches are immensely proud of all of our athletes who contributed to a day of highly competitive juvenile athletics. Well done all.
