Meath Athletics Run Out with Sara Treacy

Meath Athletics Run Out with Sara Treacy

Dunboyne AC’s  Olympian Sara Treacy took time out of her busy schedule on Saturday to host a run out with Meath juvenile athletes on Saturday morning on the Hill of Tara.  The event which was organised by the Meath County board proved a great success with many of our juvenile stars in attendance relishing the opportunity to do a run out with the Olympic star.

Despite carrying an injury which meant Sara could not run for a long as she might have liked, she took the large group through a 15 min warm up jog  and then brought them through a dynamic warm up routine followed by some drills and then another 20min run.  She followed that with a number short hill stride outs and finished with a full warm down.  The session was really worthwhile for all who turned out and Sara had the group of young athletes engrossed throughout.  After the session the athletes had a chance to have a Q&A session with Sara over a coffee in the nearby coffee shop.

It was a very worthwhile exercise for all who were in attendance.  The athletes really appreciated it as they knew a chance to do a training session with an Olympic athlete does not come along every day.  Dunboyne AC would like to express its gratitude and appreciation to the Meath County Board for organising the event and to Sara, who so generously gave her time for the benefit of all the Meath Juvenile athletes in attendance.
