Rock’n’ Roll Half Marathon Dublin City (3 Arena) / Phoenix Park, Sunday 7th August 2016
Sunday the 7th August sees the return of the National Half Marathon / Rock’n’Roll Half to Dublin, commencing in the City Centre and finishing in the Phoenix Park. As usual with this race Athletics Ireland are offering us the opportunity of volunteering to steward at this event, with €40 per head being returned to the Club if we do.
We have committed to providing 30 volunteers. In past years we’ve committed up to 55.
Members, family of members who are running and past members, we are appealing to you to put your name down for this shift if possible. It’s an early start, meeting at the 3 Arena at 6:45am, however we’ll be wrapped up and finished by 12:45pm.
It’s just up the road, hopefully the sun will shine, but whether it does or not it will be a bit of fun up there. We’ll be on baggage duties, taking on bags onto trucks before the race, we then make our way down to the Park where we return the bags to the runners after the race.
You can volunteer through the usual channels, a comment on Facebook or an email or text to Paul Gannon at 0857198429 / paul.g.gannon@gmail.com
If you can commit, please do. The Club has only committed to providing volunteers at three of these events annually, so as not to ask too much of members.
