We had a trio of our most prolific racers in action at the Oldcastle 5K on Wednesday evening.
Lyndon Showpony Thomas trotted around this 5K, as he has done every year since joining the club, in a great time of 25.32, finishing 13th in his age category.
Flying high from his Dunleer victory over Ray Mitchell on Sunday, Paul Gorey thought he’d get a sneaky midweek race in, clocking an excellent 22.07, finishing 10th in his age category.
Meanwhile at the business end of the race Peter Somba claimed another victory in an amazing time of 15.26, just 3 seconds ahead of Raheny’s Mark Kirwan. Lyndon, we can only assume that he was galloping! Congratulations Peter.
Angela Egan and Tony O’Neill were chief supporters on the night with Angela double-jobbing as photographer. Thanks for the support you two and well done Lyndon, Paul and Peter on super runs. Thanks to our hosts for a very well organised event.
