Club members would like to express their condolences to the family of Pat McGovern who passed away last Friday.
Pat was a very active member of the club in the 70’s and 80’s. He won medals for the club along side Joe Mullally (RIP) and Sean Conroy in cross country at County & Leinster level. Pat wore the club colours at races all over the country and at races around his home area of Glangevlin in West Cavan. During his time with the club Pat worked on the development and fundraising for the new cinder track on the Rooske Road. He was a member of an Garda Siochana and he persuaded many members to join Dunboyne AC during this time. Many people in the club and the local village often sought his wise advice on many issues. Pat was the recipient of our Hall of Fame award last year.
