It’s heartening to see numbers up again at races recently and the club had a few sections represented at the Ratoath 5k.
From our Senior bunch we had Rory, Phelim, Ray and Ciara in action.
Rory, still returning, fresh off a win in Tara was fourth overall and second senior, in a time of 16:26, faster than his winning time in Tara. Plenty more to come very soon from Rory, there looked like there was more in the tank.
Phelim isn’t often beaten out of first in his category and it takes a good man to do it. The man who did it is an ex member of ours, Paul Moran, by a slim margin of 3 seconds 16:37 v 16:40. The lads had a great battle and both left with envelopes for first and second.
Ray turned out for a duathlon on Saturday before turning his attentions to the 5k on Sunday. He said he felt no ill effects from his dual exertions and his performance of 21:12 didn’t show it either.
Ciara was representing our ladies on the day and she ran a 21:26, inside her goal time of 21:30.
Well done to all from the Club who ran and to Ratoath AC for a fantastic race. Thanks to Rob Webb for these super photos – check out some more here:
