Work Starts on Dunboyne AC Tartan All-Weather Track

***

Some exciting photos as work started this morning  (May 20th)on our Track Development, ensuring DAC will have a fully tartan synthetic all weather track. Although it will cause some disruption in the short term, the long term benefits to the Club and all its members will be so positive.
Pictured here are our Facilities Manager, Seamus Brady and our Club Secretary, Keith Ellington, who as part of a committee, have worked tirelessly to ensure this day has arrived!
Exciting times ahead!

Message from Dunboyne AC Club Secretary (Keith Eglinton)

Dear Members,

Please note that from *Monday 20th May* the Dunboyne Athletic track will be unavailable for training for 4 weeks – weather dependent.

I apologise to all members and coaches for the last minute notice regarding the temporary track closure but this is due to our contractor’s availability and pending weather conditions.

While this is very last minute to notify our members, the planning and work has been ongoing since 2015 when an EGM was held to discuss the commitment of upgrading on a two phase basis from a cinder to a fully tartan synthetic all-weather track.

This is exceptionally wonderful news and our club committee and members have worked extensively over the years to make this dream come through.

We would appreciate every member’s cooperation over the next few weeks and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

The clubhouse is available to adult members to use but please be aware and respectful of the track barriers and please do not cross on to the track or infield.

The clubhouse can be continued to be used for changing and showering purposes only, with the 4 Acre grass track available via access through the woods from the Rooske Road.

Each of your coaches will be updated and will have a plan for the Athletes.
Any questions please let me know by email or mobile ‪0868144012 and I would be happy to update.

I will keep communications open over the next 4 weeks with progress and updates.

This is an exciting time for the club, Meath and Athletics.

We are now just 4 weeks away from having our very our tartan track where all training restrictions will be removed leaving limitless possibilities for all Athletes from Juvenile, to Senior to Master.

*Please feel free to spread this news with fellow members and discuss among the community.*

It is inspirational what a volunteering club can achieve and will move the Dunboyne community, surrounding areas, parish and schools to the next level of fitness and Athletics.

One last word …

All this has only happened because of our dedicated members and volunteers.

Dunboyne AC will in 4 weeks own without any bank loans or council partnerships our very own fully synthetic Tartan 8 lane 400m All Weather fully flood light Track leaving endless possibilities for dedicated club members.

Kind Regards

Keith Eglington
