The Longwood GAA Club 10k has proved a popular local race since its inception a couple of years ago and we’d a few of our regular racers in action, on a busy weekend for the Club.
In the 10k race Laura Buckley and Anne Marie Sheehan took to the start line. Both have been turning out for us in cross country on a weekly basis and their form has obviously carried well onto the roads.
Laura finished third lady overall, second senior, which hopefully won her an envelope! Her time of 41:08 was Laura’s fastest 10k in three years, super running.
Anne Marie Sheehan had a similarly impressive improvement in her PB on Sunday. Her time of 52:20 was 2+ minute PB. Well done Anne Marie.
Representing F4L in Longwood was Lyndon Thomas, or Linda Thomas as he went by in the results. We’ll be scrolling through Peter Mooney’s photo’s now to see how you turned out Lyndon; you wouldn’t be the first member this summer to assume a female pseudonym in order to do a local race! Irrespective of gender, you posted a superb time of 25:23.
